List your three most frequent destinations: work, school and shopping. Compare areas using real journeys rather than distance from the city centre alone.
Visit at different times
Visit the neighbourhood in the morning, evening and at the weekend. Consider noise, traffic and lighting along walking routes.
Amenities available today
Separate facilities already open from future plans. Confirm what will be available when you move in.
Compare individual buildings
Even neighbouring buildings can differ in vehicle access, parking and outlook. Once you have shortlisted an area, compare individual properties.
Compare areas without a “best neighbourhood” ranking
One area may be nearer your office, another closer to school, and a third may have a more affordable home. For each, record the journey from a specific building to two essential destinations at the right hour, the housing payment and any unknowns. Remove an option if the daily trip or payment is unacceptable to you. Then compare actual homes in the remaining areas: two addresses in the same neighbourhood may mean very different journeys.
