Identify your residence route
Explain why you intend to live in the UAE and ask the relevant authority which procedure applies. A general online checklist is not evidence that you qualify for a particular visa.
Keep a document register
For each person, list the passport, expiry date, supporting records, translations and certifications needed. Requirements depend on the chosen procedure; check them before paying a service provider.
Plan the sequence
Confirm the order of the application, required checks and document issue. Keep the application reference and use the official channel to follow its progress.
Use the responsible authority
Address questions about your own circumstances to the authorised body. This checklist helps organise the preparation; the official procedure determines the current requirements.
Turn the list into a decision
Suppose a family has three applicants: one adult is arranging the basis for residence, while the other adult and child depend on that status. Create three rows with columns for who applies, which documents are already available, what remains unconfirmed and who can answer. If the first person has no confirmed basis for residence, booking travel for everyone else does not close that gap. Take the table to the responsible authority or a qualified adviser for your route and confirm the sequence for your family.
