Photo credits and licencesInside the apartment
Inspect finishes, windows, plumbing and air conditioning. Photograph any issues and establish who will resolve them and by when.
Shared facilities
Check the entrance, lifts, parking and communal areas. Ask about access to amenities and the building's maintenance arrangements.
Around the building
Check local noise, nearby construction and access to the property. Assess the outlook from the actual apartment and potential changes around it.
Before making a decision
Request the documents and a complete breakdown of charges. Where needed, appoint a relevant professional to review the specific transaction.
What to take away from a viewing
Record a short video of the actual unit: windows, noise with the windows shut, air conditioning and the view from each room. For every issue, note who promises to fix it and where that promise will be put in writing. If you view two units in one building, label your notes with each unit number: pictures of the shared pool will not remind you which home was noisy. Ask for the documents and payment terms for the chosen unit before paying a deposit.
