What the RTA announcement establishes
RTA describes a 30 km line with 14 stations and connections to the Red and Green lines. Its contract announcement sets a target opening of 9 September 2029. Treat that as a planned date, not a service available today.
Dubai Creek Harbour, Al Jaddaf, Ras Al Khor and Academic City are among the districts on the described route. The Atlas map below is a neighbourhood and property comparison tool, not a map of station entrances.
A district address is not a walk to the station
Buyers familiar with European public transport should check the entire journey from the building entrance to the station entrance. A short line on a map may cross a motorway, a closed plot or a construction site. Shade and usable crossings matter in Dubai’s summer heat.
Locate the published station exit and trace the pedestrian route before relying on a walking-time claim. Where exits or paths are not yet available, describe access as planned. The transport case for one building does not automatically apply to a whole district.
- Identify both the building entrance and station exit.
- Check crossings, shade and public access.
- Compare the journey today with the journey after opening.
Turn the metro story into a property comparison
Shortlist two homes that already fit your layout needs and total budget. For each, write down the journey today, a scenario with the line open and a scenario with a delay. This shows whether the purchase still works without the promised improvement.
Better connectivity could make a district practical for more tenants. That is an Atlas scenario, not evidence of a particular rent increase. Purchase price, running costs, competing supply and actual tenant demand remain essential to the calculation.
- Avoid paying a premium solely for a future-metro marketing claim.
- Compare the property’s handover schedule with the transport target.
- Include an alternative served by transport operating today.
What to monitor next
Use RTA updates to track construction, station arrangements and the start of passenger services. The source-check date on this page is not the date of a live construction report.
Revisit your chosen building and financial assumptions if the route or timing changes. Keeping the official announcement alongside subsequent updates helps distinguish the original plan from later evidence.
Questions before you shortlist
Will every Dubai Creek Harbour home be within walking distance of the Blue Line?
No. You need a route from the specific building to the relevant station exit, including crossings and public paths.
Does the Blue Line guarantee property price growth?
No. Transport is one factor. The purchase price, competing supply, ownership costs and demand can outweigh the benefit.
